Five Occasions On Which Nothing But a Tank Top Will Do

October 01, 2014

I never know quite what to call them... tank top, sleeveless sweater, pullover or, as they are affectionately referred to in our house, a Wallace (as in Wallace and Gromit) Jumper. However. the Wallace Jumper is without doubt one of the most useful pieces of kit I own.

Here's why:

1. When you need a quick fix smart solution for weddings/christenings/other formal occasions.

Pull it over what they're wearing and Ta Da!

Or perhaps more formally, looking super smart with a Hero Shirt and Cropped Trousers.

2. In your beach bag. When you're out and about and you need something warm, whatever the season.

Think of it as the boy's equivalent to a cardi: small to carry but for quick-fix warm wearing. Like this Grubster hitting the beach with his Wallace Top.

3. Autumn and Spring - When they need something warm but they're ready for full woollies yet.

4. In bed or just out of bed.

For boys not keen on dressing gowns. Out of bed, over pyjamas. With a good pair of socks. Or in bed, under blanket - snug as a bug in a rug.

5. Christmas Day.

With a bow tie. Instant boyish charm for the magic of Christmas.

The boys answer to the cardigan - as versatile but way more cool. Get a multi-purpose, super soft, machine washable Wallace Jumper here. Keep your boy super cosy this autumn with Five Boys Clothing.

At "Five Boys Clothing" we offer as much guidance as possible when it comes to sizing as we know that age is not an exact science when it comes to measuring for the right size clothing.

Any European brands provide a height measurement - and we always attempt to describe the fit. Please find a guide to European sizing below.

The European size is based on the actual height in centimeters, example a size 122 means 122 centimeter, that is for a child in height 122 centimeter each centimeter = 0.39 inch, each inch = 2.54 centimeters

EU Size (cm)

As with all things this is not an exact science. If you normally buy big - we recommend you buy big, and vice versa.

When relevant, we identify whether products are true to size, big for size or small for size.

If you need any help regarding specific sizes please contact us at and we'll get staright back to you.

PS: Don't forget we do offer returns so if you want to try the products we're happy to send them out to you.
