RECIPE HACK: STRAWBERRY TARTS
Life is too short to be slaving away in the kitchen especially when you have young children at your feet. Don't get me wrong, we both love to bake and show off our cooking skills! But sometimes you just need something quick and easy that the kids can do and that tastes delicious. So here are some of our favourite cheats:
JAM TARTS
1 x roll out short crust pastry
1 x jar of jam
Clotted cream
Strawberries
Of course you can make your own pastry but there is no shame in not only shop bought but 'roll out' pastry! Cut 12 circles using a cutter or cup. Lightly grease a 12 hole tart mould with a little butter and press each pastry circle into a mould. Finally, place a heaped teaspoon of jam or lemon curd into the pastry lined tins and oven bake at 180°C/Gas 4 for 15 minutes or until pastry is golden brown.
When they have cooled dollop on some cream and place half a strawberry on top. There. Delicious
